SMC CDQ2B50-50DCMZ - CQ2 Series compact cylinder, 50 mm bore, 50 mm stroke, double acting single rod, through-hole body, rubber bumper, rod end male thread, built-in magnet. The body and mounting match the Janatics A03 closely: 64 mm square body, 71 mm across corners, 50 mm mounting-hole pitch, 6.6 mm through holes, 20 mm piston rod, M10 x 1.5 female rod thread, 1/4 ports and nitrile seals, both running 0.5 to 10 bar. Bore, stroke, rod diameter, mounting pattern, port size and cushioning are the same. Four differences to check before you order. Male rod thread. M18 x 1.5 on the SMC against M16 x 1.5 on the Janatics, with 28.5 mm of thread and a 27 mm nut against 32 mm and 24 mm. An existing rod-end coupling, clevis, fork or nut will not transfer. Ports. This number has Rc 1/4 taper ports. SMC CDQ2B50TF-50DCMZ is the same cylinder with G 1/4 parallel ports, which is what the Janatics uses; it is a catalogue item but built to order rather than a stocked one. Length. Overall length at 50 mm stroke is 98.5 mm on the SMC against 105 mm on the Janatics, and the body is 90.5 mm against 97 mm, so the through-bolts are a different length. Compressed-air temperature. Both are rated -10 to +60 C ambient, but the air itself is rated -10 to 60 C on the SMC and +5 to +50 C on the Janatics. One note on the number itself. The C is what puts the rubber bumper in. SMC's CQ2 ships with no end cushioning unless it is specified, and the uncushioned version is allowed only about half the kinetic energy at this bore, where the Janatics has elastomer end cushioning as standard.

Airtac ACQ50X50SBG - the 50 mm bore, 50 mm stroke, double-acting compact cylinder with magnetic piston, male rod end and G1/4 ports, equivalent to this Janatics A03050050O-M. Bore, stroke, 20 mm piston rod, G1/4 porting, the 64 mm square body section (71 mm across corners) and the 50 mm square mounting-hole pitch all match. Two differences to check before ordering. First, the male rod-end thread is M18 x 1.5 on the Airtac against M16 x 1.5 on this Janatics, so a rod-end coupling, knuckle, clevis or fork made for one will not screw onto the other. Second, the Airtac's mounting holes are tapped M8 x 1.25 from both faces, where this cylinder is the plain counterbored through-hole body and is bolted through with M6 screws rather than screwed into - ask us for the tapped-hole version if your fixture bolts into the cylinder face. Note also that the Airtac number written without the trailing G, ACQ50X50SB, is the standard-thread build and will not accept a BSPP fitting.
