Technical overview
The Airtac 4V400 Series provides pilot-operated directional control for pneumatic cylinders and actuators used in automated machinery. Dual 220 V AC solenoids rated at 4.5 VA operate the 5/3-way closed-centre valve, with spring centring to the closed-centre position and a choice of internal or external pilot supply. The valve has PT 1/2" connections, a 0.15 to 0.8 MPa operating pressure range, 1.2 MPa proof pressure, 0.05 seconds or less response time and a maximum switching frequency of 3 cycles/sec. The flow path has an orifice area of 40.0 mm² and a flow coefficient of 2.35. Its aluminum-alloy body is specified for 40-micron filtered air from -20 to 70 °C. Both 220 V AC solenoid coils are supplied with terminal-type connectors for wiring and installation. IP65 coil protection, Class B insulation and lubrication-free operation support reliable service. Typical uses include cylinder control, packaging and assembly machinery, material-handling equipment and pneumatic control panels.
