Description
Gates 7401-0075 is a double barrel force-deflection tension tester used to check whether multiple V-belts and large synchronous belt drives are tensioned within the recommended range. The manual tool measures deflection force up to 66 lb, approximately 30 kg or 300 N. Its sliding rubber O-rings retain the reading on each barrel, and the two readings are added together to determine the total measured force. It is suited to belt installation, preventive maintenance and drive inspection work, including PowerBand and Poly Chain Carbon Volt belt drives. Correct tension checking helps reduce belt slippage, excessive wear and unplanned drive downtime.
